When You Are Strange ': How The Doors So History and Life Back

For those fanatical fans, the documentary 'When You Are Strange' is the healers 'disappointment' movie 'The Doors' which made Oliver Stone in 1991. With a wealth of unparalleled image excerpts, and even had never shown before, Tom DiCillo they re trying to figure the Doors in the history of our imagination.
'When You Are Strange' opens with a piece of movie 'Hwy: An American Pastoral' by The Doors lead singer Jim Morrison, who shows him wandering in the desert area of California as she tells her experience to see the Indians who were killed in an accident. The film by director graduates majoring in film at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) is an allusion from the figure of Jim Morrison, a young man, son of a military role model in the American army, which became the most important icons of American pop culture other than Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.
Following the convention other music documentaries, this film uses chronological tells how to tell the process of forming the band The Doors and the life story of vocalist, Jim Morrison. The Doors was formed by four young children in Los Angeles when the Vietnam War raged and the American people face the most difficult times of the onset of the Cold War that swept over her.
The name of the Doors is taken from psalm William Blake, an English romantic poet who greatly affect the Morrison-than Rimbaud. The sound of the phrase seemed to describe the basic philosophy and direction of this band. "When the doors of perception are cleansed, Things will of man as They Appear to truly are ... infinite." (When the doors of perception cleansed, everything looks really .... Is not unlimited). The Doors lasted from 1965 until 1973, after vocalist died in 1971 in Paris - with suspicion because of an overdose.
Johnny Depp narrate this documentary with a husky voice and weight. Snippet exercises image and appearance of The Doors in various stage both in America and Europe coupled with an impressive picture personal moments members. This film also featuring members of The Doors is complete, ranging from John Densmore, Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek, and Jim Morrison's lizard king with a critical and amazing views.
Unfortunately, though it would bring nostalgia for fans, one of the films nominated for best documentary category at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival does not provide complete information to non-fans. With a powerful editing control to the figure of Jim Morrison, this documentary only convey one dimension of a drunken Morrison figure, at once wild genius.
With reproductions of photos and figures as a star, 'When You Are Strange' just mengambah index record of the Morrison as 'the Tortured artist'. Never had shown how the figure as intelligent and semapan Jim Morrison to be a fairly unstable and make the drugs as a friend to pick her death.
Morrison's death that seem too banal-in shower, bukang on stage, for example - is also difficult for the director to make dramas. In addition, some pretty important things that makes Morrison is Morrison we know today, missing from this film. Bad relationship with family, especially his father, as reflected in the lyrics of the song 'The End' (Father, "Yes, Son, I want to kill you ...) are also not tracked in this movie.
However, overall the film is arguably quite extraordinary. With its access is not limited to concert footage and behind the scenes of The Doors, a film that uses amateur aesthetics of independent films and underground became a show that broke the hearts and feelings.
